Going Further With Contour Drawing
A two-part workshop with Karen LaGrave Small
Mondays, September 15 & 22 | 9:30am–12:00pm
$100 | Hosted at Heart of Cartm in the HeartWorks Studio
Rather than focusing on making a drawing, this class will explore the act of drawing—looking closely, staying present, and using drawing as a meditative practice. No experience is necessary. And if you do have experience, this may add a new dimension to your approach.
Expect your “looking carefully” to increase.
Expect your concentration to improve.
You will become more aware of when you're in the flow—and when your analytical mind tries to take over.
We will not share our drawings during class.
While drawing, we will be quiet.
When not drawing, we will be noisy.
Materials Needed:
A drawing notebook (around 9" x 12")
A few ballpoint pens
Pencils of any kind that you love
Forgot something? We’ve got you covered. Basic supplies will be available, including reused and reimagined materials from our creative reuse store.

This workshop is led by Karen and hosted at Heart of Cartm as part of our ongoing community programming at HeartWorks Studio. We’re excited to support community-led workshops like this—bringing reuse to life through art, learning, and shared space.
