Volunteer - Donate - Circulate

We believe that discards are valuable resources.

We believe that reimagination and play inspire creative problem solving.

We believe that the creative use of waste can improve the quality of life for all communities.

We believe that a zero waste community is possible.

Make a Donation

Your donation dollars directly support our operations, our programs and our morale as we facilitate the reimagination, reuse and repair of our region's resources.

For over 25 years, the CARTM organization has led creative, local solutions to address waste in Tillamook County.  While our daily operations have changed over the years, our vision has remained steady as we lead our community to zero waste.

We are fully dedicated to providing repair, reuse and reimagination services, because we believe that a zero waste community is possible!

Trash talk is overrated. Let your actions speak louder!

Join our trash to treasures team! By helping us to sort, clean, repair and research, you are leading the community toward zero waste. This is meaningful work for our organization, for you and for this community.

How to Donate Materials Like a Pro

1. Learn about the items we accept for donation and sell by visiting the store!

2. Group your donations by like items and pack loosely so that staff can see all items in the box or bag.

3. Be honest! Does it only work if you can find a rare, discontinued part? Is the bottom half of the box full of giant spiders from your attic? Did you check the fabric for yucky smells or stains?

4. Treat your donations like the gift that they are by dusting them off, washing them or wrapping up cords. The value of your items can quickly diminish if we have to spend a lot of time cleaning and chasing spiders.

5. Take a photo of furniture or items you’re unsure of and email to jessi@heartofcartm.org or text to 971-389-8414 before loading it into your car.

6. Trust staff’s judgment on acceptance. We’ve been in the reuse business for over 25 years and it can still be a difficult call on whether or not we have the resources and ability to keep your items out of the landfill. Sometimes we say no to your items, but we still love you. We trust you to find the most appropriate outlet for your things, which could be the trash.
